The Messenger

St Josephs & St Nicholas, Moorends

TOGETHER

Arriving for Mass, a little early, to prepare
Greeting others we know, a little time to spare
Embrace, welcome, all the family there
Waiting for all we're about to share
         Together

Places sought, friends found, we can see, so stay here
Mass begins, our hearts open, ready for all we hear
Praise we give, Thanks too, for all we live and fear
Sat, stood or kneeling we participate, that's clear
         Together

But there's more in each row than is seen by eye
They don't need a seat, or room, that's no lie
They don't take up space, but they do have a cry
It's silent, yet powerful, and they continue to try
         Together

Each holds in their hearts, some who can't come too
And each one is here, and more, it's true
They share every moment, sound and movement with you
For their bodies can't come, but their spirits still true
        Together

With you, in you, through you
The sick, isolated, disabled come too
To Mass, rejoicing, giving thanks for you
Hoping one day to be there physically too
        Together

We don't see the clothes they'd like to wear
Or even the style or colour of their hair
Or know their feelings and all they could share
But believe me truly, they really are there
        Together

Some don't even have a name that's known
Yet we're family, and in love we've grown
In parish, community, CHURCH ... seeds sown
There's much more work done, than is seen or known
  Together, united... seen or unknown

God alone sees all, He alone gives the call
Hand in hand we must walk, enabling each other not to fall

.. That's Together.. in Mass.. and 'out' too,
Hidden in CHRIST, united with you

WHY WORRY?

There are only two things to worry about.
Either you are well or you are sick.
If you are well, then there is nothing to worry about,
but if you are sick there are two things
for you to worry about.
Either you get well or you will die.
If you get well, then there is nothing to worry about.
If you die, then there are two things to worry about.
Either you go up or down.
If you go up, then there is nothing to worry about.
But if you go down you will be so busy
shaking hands with old friends,
you won't have time to worry.
