Parish Garden Party / Barbeque

Barbeque 1

Fine weather blessed our most recent Parish get together. An excellent barbeque with an appetising side salad was gratefully eaten.

The Tombola table was full of prizes to be won, if you were fortunate enough to have bought a lucky ticket.

Barbeque 2

The bingo and the quiz both went down well, together with the golf, and the pitching and putting event, which proved to be very popular.

Barbeqye 3

We all had a great afternoon. It is lovely to be able to socialise with other parishioners. Most of the time we never get chance to stop and talk to each other. It is an event such as this that really brings the parish together.

Long may they continue! Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in any way with the organisation and preparation of the day.

The Pope and the Scudetto

Pope John Paul II will be given the first new Roma shirt with the Scudetto shield on it. The strip will have the No.1 and his real name, Wojtyla on the back. “He’ll have that number because he is the No.1,’, said President Franco Sensi. “It’s also because as a youngster he used to play in the goal.” The Roma chief will present the shirt to the head of the Catholic Church.

Farewell to Father Moriarty

We are shocked and saddened to hear that Father Moriarty is leaving us. We would like to say a very grateful thank you to him for his service to Moorends, and to wish him a speedy recovery. Also to wish him every success for the future.

Diocesan Financial Audit

A recent Diocesan Audit was carried out on the Parish Accounts.

Everything was found to be in good order and the auditor was satisfied that both the counting and banking of cash, and the accounting records are kept and carried out correctly.
