TDWAG
You may have heard of the proposal to build a wind farm between Moorends / Thorne and the moors. But do you realise just how big and intrusive this will be?
Please take a look at TDWAG, the site of the Thorne & Moorends Windfarms Action Group. See Kate or Peter if you would like to join or can help in any way.

STATEMENT
At its meeting on the 27th October 2004, the Communication Group decided to discontinue the practise of posting full and detailed minutes of meetings on the parish web site. However, a short report will be made, after each Messenger publication, giving details of donations, expenses etc. as well as details of decisions made and actioned, relevant to the Communication Group.
The committee felt this to be much more appropriate.
Maria Stockton.
(Chairman)
The committee also decided that, as the existing minutes were "old news", these should be removed from the web site. The minutes have duly been removed. In future anyone wishing to see them will have to revert to the procedure of asking the secretary of the relevant committee

'New Look' for the website.
The original website was designed for the Moorends parish. For the last few months we have been including news and events from Stainforth. The new layout recognises that the website serves both Parishes, and includes separate menus for items relevant to both Parishes or to Moorends only, or Stainforth only.
The navigation method has been changed to eliminate 'frames', which could, and did, cause problems, and now uses a sliding menu which is at the top of all pages (except some of the older Comments and Messenger pages). If you have problems with this new menu then please e-mail me - in the short term you can return to the home page using the Home button at the bottom of the page and make a selection from the green panel
If there is anything you would like adding to the site please email me or contact Tony Shay or Kate Heywood
22nd March 2003
A new click-to-give fundraising site, www.aquaplastics.org, was launched on March 22nd by the European plastics industry to raise money for much needed water projects in Africa. 1.5 million clicks need to be generated by June 22nd 2003 to raise a donation of €150 000 for the international charity WaterAid.
Updated June 23rd. After a very slow start over the first 2 months there was a magnificant response over the last two weeks, and the target was reached with a day to spare. Thanks for everyone who contributed.
