The church of St Joseph and St Nicholas
serves the parish of Thorne and Moorends and the surrounding villages, on the
north-eastern fringe of the Catholic Diocese of Hallam, South Yorkshire. Our
church is situated in Bloomhill Road, off Marshland Road, in Moorends.
We are an established parish community, always ready to welcome newcomers. We
are proud of our church building which was opened in 1939; but we are even more
proud of our church community – the people of God ranging from our senior
parishioners to the youngest children. This web site will tell you something
about our parish, but better still come along to one of the services or parish
events. WE are here in order to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So we offer
